Current Context: The Project AMBER was launched by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Generation India Foundation (GIF) jointly.
Project AMBER
  • The AMBER signifies ‘Accelerated Mission for Better Employment and Retention’.
  • It aims to fill the gap between skilling and employment.
  • It was launched at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
  • Various sustainable models responsible for skill development will be developed and implemented.
  • It will result in inclusive growth, better outcomes, and institutional strengthening.
  • The project AMBER aims to empower India’s youth with skills related to industries and thus grant them various employment opportunities.
  • The project is funded by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship under the Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) program and private philanthropy.
  • Under the AMBER project, 30,000 youth will be trained and 50% amongst them will be women.
