16th India Digital Summit 2022

Current Context: The 16th India Digital Summit (IDS) 2022 was held via video conference which was addressed by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal in a virtual manner.

• It was organized by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).
• Theme of IDS 2022: ‘Supercharging Startups’
• While addressing the summit, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, unveiled ‘LEAP’ which signifies ‘Leverage, Encourage, Access and Promote’ in order to take startups in forwarding direction of growth.
• At the event, he also mentioned that startups can help the rural economy of India to adopt digital mode and they can also help rural micro-entrepreneurs to adopt online platforms for the execution of their businesses.
