Current Context: The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) of India has signed an MoU with France’s Institut Pasteur.

  • They have signed MoU to enhance the scope for cooperation in the health research sector of both countries.
  • Under the MoU, they will perform joint research in the health sector.
  • They will focus on emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and inherited disorders.
  • They will develop effective and affordable healthcare solutions which will be useful for the people of both the countries and as well across the globe.
  • They will work in the areas like Genomics of Inherited Diseases, Personalized Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Antimicrobial Resistance, and Development of New Models for Drug Screening.
