Current Context: The Pencilton, which is the teen-focused fintech startup has launched ‘PencilCard’.
Pencilton Launched ‘PencilCard’
  • The ‘PencilCard’ is a debit card with NCMC (National Common Mobility Card) and it is launched for teens.
  • It is launched in partnership with Transcorp.
  • The ‘PencilCard’ will serve as an all-in-one type of card i.e. debit card, bus card, and metro card.
  • Thus, it will be used for multiple purposes in online as well as offline mode.
  • Currently, it is possible for the teens to use it for travel on the airport line in Delhi and a KTC bus card in Pune and soon will be rolled out for metro travel in Pune, Chennai, and Mumbai.
  • The PencilCard is also a Platinum RuPay card that will offer free access to all airport lounges in India.
  • Using the Pencilton app, the card can be activated. After activation, the user can load money, get category-wise spend analysis, block or unblock the cards, define limits on spending, save in a digital piggy bank, and many other functions.
