Current Context: India’s first Mobile Honey Processing Van was launched by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) Chairman, Vinai Kumar Saxena.
India’s 1st Mobile Honey Processing Van
  • It was launched at Village Sirora in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
  • The design of the van was made by KVIC itself at its Multi-disciplinary Training Centre, Panjokehra.
  • It required the funds of Rs 15 lakh for the same.
  • The Mobile Honey Processing Van has the ability to process up to 300 KG of honey in a time duration of 8 hours.
  • It is equipped with a testing laboratory that will help to test the quality of honey produces.
  • The Mobile Honey Processing Van is part of KVIC’s Honey Mission, in which it aims to train beekeepers, distribute Bee Boxes to farmers.
  • The mission will also help rural people to earn extra income through beekeeping activities.
  • Through the van, the beekeepers will be able to process honey at their doorsteps. This will thus save time, reduce hassle travel work and cost for them.
  • Due to Mobile Honey Processing Van, it is expected that good quality and quantity of honey production will take place on a vast scale.
