MSDE signed MoU with IGNOU

Current Context: The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) signed MoU with Indira Gandhi Open University (IGNOU).

• The MoU was signed to enhance the vocational and technical training framework.
• In this regard, the MoU of 10-year long duration was signed between both the entities.
• The features of the MoU are in line with Sustainable Development Goals 4.4e and National Education Policy 2020.
• They will generate avenues for work opportunities for youths of the country by training them with vocational and technical skillsets.
• The beneficiaries of the program include trainees linked to the National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs), Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras (PMKKs), and Jan Shikshan Sansthan's (JSS).
• The project steering committee will be set up which will manage and execute the program.
• The members of the committee will be representatives from the varsity and the skill ministry.
• Students can enroll in a three-year degree course at IGNOU.
