‘Niramay’ Project Launched in Assam

Current Context: The National Health Mission in partnership with Piramal Swasthya and Cisco launched the ‘Niramay’ project in Assam.

• The projects aim to evaluate and demonstrate the inclusion of Digital Health Technology in the state’s health delivery sector.
• This will help to give digital tech support to the healthcare system of the state.
• Under this, a training program to make aware of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission will be undertaken.
• The ‘Niramay’ project is based upon Piramal Swasthya’s indigenous healthcare technology platform ‘Amrit’.
• The digital infrastructure with respect to rapid diagnostics, patient’s health records, telemedicine support, etc will be enhanced at the grass-root level in three aspirational districts in Assam namely Baksa, Barpeta, and Darrang.
