Paschim Lehar (XPL-2022)

Current Context: The joint maritime exercise named Paschim Lehar (XPL-2022) was conducted by the Western Naval Command of the Indian Navy.

  • It was held to enhance Inter-Service synergy among the Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Army, and Coast Guard.
  • Various weapon firings in the real view and their validation of operational missions were taken during the exercise’.
  • It allowed the participated forces an opportunity to operate together under realistic conditions, in responding to contemporary maritime challenges, across the areas of the Command’s responsibility.
  • It was conducted in the Arabian Sea.
  • Around 40 ships and submarines of the Indian Navy participated in the exercise.
  • OPVs (offshore patrol vessels), FPVs (fast patrol vessels), and air cushion vessels of the Coast Guard also participated in the exercise.
