28th DST-CII India Singapore Technology Summit 2022

Current Context: The 28th DST-CII India-Singapore Technology Summit 2022 was held in a virtual manner.

• It was jointly organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST).
• The theme of the summit: ‘Building economies for the future’.
• The meeting was attended by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh.
• Singapore side was represented by Singaporean Minister for Transport and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, S Iswaran.
• At the meeting, he mentioned that India is the major hub for foreign investments in the manufacturing sector.
• He mentioned that India is gaining its presence in various technologies like blockchain, Nanotechnology, quantum computing, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, etc.
• The summit allowed the dignitaries to discuss and exchange ideas in the technology domain in order to enhance various sectors of both nations.
