NHPC signed pact with HDFC Bank

Current Context: The State-owned National Hydropower Generation Company (NHPC) Limited has signed a pact with HDFC Bank.
NHPC signed pact with HDFC Bank
  • They have signed the pact to securitize return on equity (RoE) of its 540-MW Chamera-I Power Plant in Himachal Pradesh for 10 years.
  • The amount of securitization facility is Rs 1,016.39 crore. It is 5.24 p.c.p.a. by discounting rate linked with three-month T-bills.
  • The pact follows Regulation 30 of SEBI which mentions Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.
  • About Chamera-I Power Plant: It is an underground powerhouse having an installed capacity of 540-MW. It has 3 units of 180-MW capacity each. It will generate 1664.56 million units of hydropower.
