- India’s first geopark was approved by the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Ministry of Mines. It will be set up at Lamheta village, situated on the banks of the Narmada River in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The funds of Rs 1.30 crore are sanctioned for the formation of Geopark on 5 acres of land. The total cost of the project is Rs 35 crore.
