‘Heal by India’ Initiative

Current Context: The Government of India (GoI) has announced to promote the ‘Heal by India’ initiative.

• The initiative will help to enhance educational institutions in the health sector.
• It will generate job opportunities in the health sector at the international level as well.
• It will enhance the education sector which will help to generate quality human resources in health so that the passed-out candidates will serve the health industry in an efficient manner at national as well as international levels.
• Therefore, the GoI will work to have well-qualified faculty, eradication of language barrier, usage of advanced technology, impactful government policies, etc.
• The initiative will mostly focus on those that have high demand outside India.
• It includes 50-60 streams like dieticians, nurses, lab technicians, paramedics, OT (operation theatre) attendants, physiotherapists, OT technicians, medical attendants for old age patients care, etc.
• The training will be imparted under the Skill India program.
