Current Context: The IISc Bengaluru has installed and commissioned ‘Param Pravega’.
IISc Commissioned ‘Param Pravega’
  • The ‘Param Pravega’ is the most powerful supercomputer.
  • It is considered to be the largest in India’s academic institution.
  • It is part of the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM).
  • The ‘Param Pravega’ supercomputer has a supercomputing capacity of 3.3 petaflops.
  • It is a mix of heterogeneous nodes. It has an Intel Xeon Cascade Lake processor for the CPU nodes.
  • It has NVIDIA Tesla V100 cards on its GPU node which is developed by C-DAC.
  • It has the ability to perform programs of development tools, libraries, and high-performance computing applications.
