NIESBUD signed MoU with MoRD

Current Context: The National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) has signed an MoU with the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD).

• The NIESBUD is an autonomous entity under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
• The MoU was signed to develop a sustainable model to promote entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.
• And for this purpose, the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) will be conducted.
• Therefore, due to this partnership, an innovative entrepreneurship culture will be developed, and will also develop the economical and social value of the community.
• The SVEP is the sub-entity of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) of the Rural Development ministry.
• Both entities will offer support to the entrepreneurs serving in rural areas. They will be helped to set up enterprises at the village levels.
• They will be helped to set up startups serving non-Agri sectors.
• Beneficiaries will be benefited from knowledge related to the startups, financial support, advisory support.
• The rural entrepreneurs will get access to the banks to perform their financial work.
• Support in ICT and other digital tools will also be granted.
