Sagar Parikrama

Current Context: Programme ‘Sagar Parikrama’ was launched by the government of India on the occasion of the 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

• By the Department - Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
• Aim –
• interaction with the fisherman and make them aware of various fisheries-related
• schemes and programs being implemented by the Government
• promote responsible fisheries
• protection of marine ecosystems.
• The Programme will cover all coastal states.
• The 1st phase was organized in Gujarat from Mandvi and ended at Porbandar, Gujarat.
