- The Central Zonal Council meeting will discuss issues on connectivity, power, sharing of river water, and other matters of common interests. The Central Zonal Council consists of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
- The Chief Ministers, Ministers, Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Senior officers of the member states and central government will participate in the meeting. The zonal council meeting will be preceded by a standing committee of the council in which the agendas to be placed before the council is scrutinized and prioritized.

- Under section 15-22 of the States Reorganisation Act, 1956 five zonal councils were set up in the country in 1957. The Chairman of each of these zonal councils is Union Home Minister and the Chief Ministers of the host state (to be chosen by rotation every year) will be the vice-chairman. Two more ministers from each state are nominated as members by the governor.
