- CM of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma released a video on 'Har Ghar Tiranga' to create awareness of the initiative to mark the independence day celebration.
- Chief Minister urged people to hoist flags in their homes, and offices from August 13 to 15. With the request from the government of Assam, Self-Help groups in the state will produce 30 lakh flags.
- The flags are priced at Rs 18 and will be available at Fair Price Shops also. The government will provide Rs 18 extra to Orunodoi beneficiaries in their monthly financial assistance in the month of August to buy National flags.
