- National Health Authority (NHA) has announced that Transgender persons will now be brought under the ambit of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY. The decision is aimed at providing a comprehensive medical package to transgender persons.
- Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to launch cow dung-to-compressed biogas project at Sanchore in Rajasthan. This is HPCLs first project under the waste-to-energy portfolio. The plant will utilize 100 tonnes of cow dung per day to produce biogas which can be used as automotive fuel. The project is developed under the Gobar-Dhan scheme launched by the government of India in 2018, which is part of the biodegradable waste management program.
- Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav launched 'Azadi Quest' a series of online educational mobile games developed in collaboration with Zynga India. The first game in the series is 'Azadi Quest: Match 3 puzzle' an easy-to-play casual game representing the players with the colorful journey of India's independence. 'Azadi Quest: Heros of Bharat' is designed as a quiz game to test the knowledge of the players about the heroes of India's freedom movement through 750 questions spread across 75 levels.
- Rajasthan's investor summit - Invest Rajasthan 2022 began in the national capital and a memorandum of understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 70,000 cr was signed by various firms.
- Banking and Finance
- Reserve bank of India (RBI) imposes restrictions on Thodupuzha Urban Co-operative bank in Kerala. The bank is restricted from withdrawing funds as part of several restrictions imposed on it due to its deteriorating financial condition. The restriction will remain in force for six months from the close of business on August 23, 2022. The bank cannot grant or renew any loans, make any investments, and accept fresh deposits without the prior approval of RBI.
- Reserve Bank of India (RBI) lifts the ban on American Express, more than a year after it was imposed. In view of the satisfactory compliance registration by American Express Banking Corp. with the RBI circular dated April 6,2018 on Storage of Payment System Data, the restriction imposed, vide order dated April 23, 2021, on the onboarding of new domestic customers has been lifted.

- Addidas CEO Kasper Rorsted will step down next year from the post of CEO of the sports apparel maker. Kasper Rorsted has been the CEO since 2016.
- Mali appoints Colonel Abdoulaye Maiga, the government spokesperson and minister of territorial administration as the interim Prime Minister. He will act in place of Choguel Maiga who is resting because of his health issues.

- Reality firm Omaxe received a project from Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to develop a sports complex and retail project at Dwarka in the National capital. The total cost of the project is Rs 2100 cr. The company has secured this 50-acre project from DDA under the "Design Build Finance and Operate" model. It will build both indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

- Adani group acquired a 29.18 percent stake in the television channel NDTV ltd. It will launch an open offer as required by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to buy another 26 percent of the company.

- Liberty Medal 2022 will be awarded to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He is serving as Ukraine's president since May 2019. The Liberty Medal is established in 1988 to mark the US Constitution's bicentennial. It is presented to individuals who strive to secure the blessings of liberty for people around the world.

- India’s 1st Composite Indoor Shooting Range has been inaugurated at INS Karna. The Shooting range has been equipped with advanced target systems with associated control software to help personnel improve their firing skills.
