- Delhi Police will launch an online facility to release seized vehicles. Delhi Police is trying this innovative idea for the convenience of citizens. So far there has been a taxing process and people have to go to the police station multiple times to release their confiscated vehicles.
- Through this online facility, the process has been made simple allowing people to apply online for the release of their seized vehicle while they are at home.
- The facility will be opened under the Civil Service System. Currently, the services that are available online are theft or loss of goods, FIR viewing, elderly registration, and tenant/servant registration.
- Generally, vehicles are seized when documents are not complete or for unauthorized parking. To release the vehicle the owner has to go to the police station and write an application. After the approval of the ACP, the vehicle owner must again visit the station with the application to release the vehicle. With the new system coming into force, the process will start after the online application.
