NSDC to set up online skill learning platform

Current Context: National Skill Development Council (NSDC) to launch Skill India learning management system and new programs in partnership with foreign universities.
NSDC to set up online skill learning platform
  • With the new programs, NSDC aims to socialize skilling and empower both trainers and learners. Skill providers will upload the modules to the platform and learners can enroll and start to learn.
  • The online platform will also provide job opportunities to the learners. For which NSDC has partnered with Unacademy's Relevel, an online job portal.
  • Training will be provided in areas such as drone technology, electric vehicle, cryptocurrency, animation, and visual effects. For this NSDC has started to work with start-ups.
  • The implementation and knowledge partner of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), NSDC on August 5, 2022, launched the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Programme in Delhi. Under this program, NSDC will upskill 75,000 workers for free in the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Jurisdiction, in the age group of 18 to 45 years. This program will be implemented in three phases with 25,000 workers upskilled in the first phase.
  • This year NSDC has partnered with institutions such as IIT Mandi, Medhavi Skill University, and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to initiate skill-based courses and training across India.
