  • The collaboration areas focus on the Krishna Godavari and Cauvery basins in the eastern offshore and the Kutch-Mumbai region in the western offshore.
  • This partnership between ONGC and ExxonMobil will bring benefits to the entire energy value chain and open new vistas to the exploration and production paradigm.
  • The collaboration will boost the confidence in going further ahead in deep water exploration on the east coast of India. 25 percent of the ExxonMobil brain power is engaged in evaluating Indian deepwater.
  • ONGC is a Maharatna company, which is the largest crude oil and natural gas company in India. It is contributing around 71% to Indian domestic production. As of June 2022, the government of India holds a 58.91% stake in ONGC.
