- The secondary Processing Unit was inaugurated by the Minister of Agriculture & Cooperation, Marketing, Food Processing of the Andhra Pradesh government Kakani Govardhan Reddy.

- ICRISAT along with its project implementation partner Accion Fraterna Ecology Centre (AFEC) has been working to accelerate Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and smallholder member farmers' benefits through interventions in agriculture value chain.
- Over 6000 smallholder farmers in the Anantapur district will benefit from this SPU. The facility is operated by the women-led Rythu Nestham Food Producer Company Ltd. (RNFPCL). The facility has a built-up area of 1,000 square meters.
- The facility will have five processing lines, which will produce millet and pulses-based ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat formulations such as traditional khichdi and upma mixes, cookies, snacks, and cold pressed groundnut oil.
