- The inauguration of Arogya Manthan marked the completion of four years of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PMJAY) and one year of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
- The inaugural event witnessed the presence of the Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics & IT Ashwini Vaishnaw, the NITI Aayog Member (Health) Dr. Vinod Paul, the Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, NITI Aayog Member (Health) Dr. Vinod Paul, Uttarakhand State Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, and CEO National Health Authority Dr. R S Sharma.
- At the event, Health Minister Mandaviya said that 19 crore Ayushman Cards were issued across 33 States and Union Territories (UTs), and more than 24 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) numbers were also generated.
- Various sessions were held in Arogya Manthan with representatives from international organizations/ministries viz. World Bank, Hong Kong Hospital Authority, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, Commonwealth Centre for Digital Health, Global Health Payment LLC, USA, Health Ministry Mexico, Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee, Australia, and Ministry of Health, Thailand along with various thought leaders of healthcare and technology in India.
- PMJAY is the world’s largest health insurance which is fully financed by the central government. The scheme offers a sum insured of Rs. 5 lakh per family for both, secondary and tertiary care.
