Collaboration Between TerraPay and NIPL

Current Context: The Netherlands payment infrastructure company, TerraPay joined hands with India’s NPCI International Payments (NIPL) to facilitate cross-border transactions for Indian consumers and merchants.

• The making and acceptance of these cross-border payments will be facilitated by an active Unified Payments Interface (UPI) ID.
• The Indian Customers with an active UPI ID can transact at the Quick Response (QR) locations which will be enabled globally by TerraPay.
• The collaboration between the NIPL and TerraPay is aimed at boosting the usage of UPI Applications across the world and further pushing for a cashless digital drive in India.
• Terra Payment Services (TerraPay) is a cross-border payments company that was founded in 2015 with its headquarters in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The current CEO of the company is Ambar Sur.
• NIPL is an international arm of the NPCI that was established in 2020 with its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The current CEO of the NIPL is Ritesh Shukla.
