  • The Joe Biden-led US Administration revoked the designation of Afghanistan as a major non-NATO ally. In 2012, Barak Obama named Afghanistan a major non-NATO ally for the maintenance of economic and defence ties.
  • The Government of India (GoI) launched an Indian Sign Language (ISL) dictionary mobile app called “Sign Learn” containing 10,000 words. The app is available in both, Android and iOS versions.

    • Indian women’s cricket team speedster from West Bengal, Jhulan Goswami retired from international cricket after playing her last match against England. With 255 ODI wickets, she has a record for taking the highest number of wickets in the world.

    • After the doubles defeat in the 1st round of the Laver Cup, the all-time great Swiss tennis player, Roger Federer, retired from professional tennis.
