- Nua Khai festival was celebrated in Orissa. This festival is celebrated a day after the Ganesh Chaturthi and signifies the celebration of the newly harvested crop. ‘Nua’ means ‘New’ and ‘Khai’ means ‘Food’ and the first harvested crop is offered to the local goddess Samaleshwari. This festival is also celebrated in parts of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh as well.
- An agreement to set up two biogas plants was signed between the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and Suzuki. The objective is to obtain green energy and organic fertilizers. The biogas plants will be constructed in Gujarat.
- 5th Rashtriya Poshan Maah began on 1st September. It is a one-month-long event, celebrated as a part of POSHAN Abhiyan. This year’s theme of Poshan Maah 2022 is “Mahila aur Swasthya” and “Bacha aur Shiksha”.
