- The Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) is a set of actions taken to reduce air pollution in Delhi-NCR, depending on the current level of pollution.
- The directions to implement the revised GRAP were issued by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), according to which the plan will come into force from October 1, i.e. 15 days before the usual date.
- This step was taken after the change and drop in the wind speed which might result in the building of pollutants.
- The GRAP has been classified under 4 stages of air quality in Delhi-NCR:
- Stage I – ‘Poor’ (AQI 201-300)
- Stage II – ‘Very Poor’ (AQI 301-400)
- Stage III – ‘Severe’ (AQI 401-450)
- Stage IV – ‘Severe Plus’ (AQI >450)
- The revised GRAP is part of a new policy formulated by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to curb air pollution in Delhi-NCR.
