- Bharat Vidya is a first-of-its-kind online learning platform that is dedicated to Indology, South Asian, and Oriental studies, related to art, architecture, language, philosophy, etc.
- It is designed and developed by the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute (BORI) and will offer six courses:
- Veda Vidya
- Bharatiya Darshanshastra
- Fundamentals of Archaeology
- Sanskrit Learning
- 18 Parvas of Mahabharata
- Works of Kalidasa and Bhasha
- BORI will collaborate with Indian and foreign universities for awarding credits for its courses.
- At the inaugural event, Sitharaman said that the courses offered complied with the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
- BORI was established in 1917 in Pune, Maharashtra, and is known as one of the largest collectors of manuscripts in Sanskrit and Prakrit languages, and rare books.
