- National News:
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off South India’s first Vande Bharat Express from Bengaluru, Karnataka. The train will connect Mysuru (Karnataka) to Chennai (Tamil Nadu) via Bengaluru.
- The 2nd Agriculture Ministerial-Level Meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) was hosted by India in New Delhi. The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar, chaired the meeting.
- The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, announced the world’s longest river cruise between Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) and Dibrugarh (Assam) to be launched in January 2023. An MoU was signed between the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) and Antara Luxury River Cruises regarding the same.
- Reliance Industries was awarded the project to build India’s first Multi-Modal Logistic Park at Mappedu in the Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. It will be developed in an area of 27 acres with an estimated cost of INR 1,424 crores.
- The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) awarded the Bhopal Railway Station with a 4-Star rating for providing healthy and nutritious food to the passengers, under “Eat Right Station”. Last year, Chandigarh Railway Station was awarded a 5-Star rating.
- International News:
- The US Department of Treasury removed India from its Currency Monitoring List. Along with India, other countries like Italy, Mexico, Thailand, and Vietnam were also removed from the list.
- The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced the launch of the “Psyche Mission” to investigate the 16 Psyche asteroids in October 2023. According to the report, 16 Psyche is a 226-kilometer-wide asteroid that might contain a core of iron, nickel, and gold worth USD 10,000 quadrillion.

- Every year November 12 is observed as World Pneumonia Day (WPD) across the world. It is an initiative of the Global Coalition Against Child Pneumonia. The theme of WPD-2022 is, “Pneumonia Affects Everyone”.
