  • National News:
    • The Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, announced that the “Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas” will be celebrated on 15th November 2022 in a grand manner in schools, and higher education institutions.
    • The Haryana Forest Department in collaboration with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) launched the “Trees Outside Forests in India (TOFI)” program in the state.
    • The 15th Urban Mobility India Conference and Expo culminated in the city of Kochi, Kerala. It was a three-day event (04-06 November) with the theme of “Azadi@75 – Sustainable AatmaNirbhar Urban Mobility”.
    • The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) launched an AI/ML chatbot named “Aadhaar Mitra”. It will be available in both Hindi and English.
    • A three-day watersport, Rising Sun Water Fest 2022, concluded at Umiam Lake in Meghalaya. It was the initiative of the Indian Army’s Eastern Command in collaboration with the states of Assam and Meghalaya.
    • The State Government of Madhya Pradesh allocated INR 1.62 crores for the installation of the world’s first Vedic Clock in the city of Ujjain. The government said that the Vedic (Vikramaditya) Clock will be divided into 24 hours (muhurats) and will be synced with the position of the Sun.

  • International News:
    • According to the “WMO Provisional State of the Global Climate 2022” report released by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the mean temperature in 2022 will be 1.15oC above the pre-industrial era (19th century), which will make the last 8 years, i.e. 2015-2022, the warmest years.
    • The European Union (EU) approved the world’s first one-dose laboratory-developed antibody, Nirsevimab, to protect infants against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). The drug has been jointly developed by AstraZeneca and Sanofi’s Beyfortus.
  • Important Days:
    • Every year November 07 is observed as National Cancer Awareness Day across India. It was started by the Government of India in 2014 with the objective to start a state-level movement on cancer control.
    • Every year November 07 is celebrated as the birth anniversary of the Nobel Laureate and great Indian scientist, Sir CV Raman. This year marks the 134th birth anniversary of Sir CV Raman.
  • Appointments:
    • Professor Kishor Kumar Basa was appointed as the Chairperson of the National Monument Authority (NMA) by the Department of Culture.
    • The CEO of the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF), Mohammad Tayyab Ikram, was appointed as the President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH). He will succeed Narinder Batra.

The booklet will provide information about the schemes like MGNREGA, PM Awas Yojna- Grameen, Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojna- NRLM, PM Gram Sadak Yojna, etc.
  • Sports:
    • Sri Lankan cricketer, Danushka Gunathilaka, was arrested in Sydney, Australia, following the sexual assault charges. He was later suspended from “all formats of cricket” by the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
    • The International Cricket Council (ICC) named Kumara Dharmasena and Paul Reiffel as the match officials for the semifinals of the ICC T20 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2022 between India and England.
