    • The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has partnered with the JSW Group for the upcoming FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 Bhubaneswar.
    • Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic defeated American Sebastian Korda in the Men's Single at the 2023 Adelaide International 1. The score was 6-7 (8), 7-6 (3), and 6-4.
    • Tennis player Tallon Griekspoor (World No. 95) defeated Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi (World No. 60) in the men's singles finals of the Tata Open Maharashtra 2023, which were played in Pune, Maharashtra's Balewadi Stadium. This is also his first ATP Tour (Association of Tennis Professionals) championship.
  • Appointments
    • Manpreet Monica Singh, who is of Indian descent, has been sworn in as a Harris County judge, making history as the first female Sikh judge in the US.
    • Chetan Sharma was reappointed as the chairman of the senior selection committee exactly two months after the BCCI disbanded his entire panel for the Indian team’s semi-final exit in the T20 World Cup. Salil Ankola, Shiv Sunar Das, Subroto Banerjee and Sridharan Sharath are new members of the selection committee.

    • CEO of the vaccine manufacturer Serum Institute of India, Adar Poonawalla, has been conferred with the Patangrao Kadam award.
    • In honour of his lifelong contributions to the legal profession in India and around the world, the Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession (HLS CLP) has named Dr. Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud, Chief Justice of India, as the 2022 winner of its "Award for Global Leadership."
  • Obituary:
    • At the age of 88, Keshari Nath Tripathi, a three-time speaker of the Uttar Pradesh (UP) Assembly and a former governor of West Bengal (July 2014–July 2019), passed away in Prayagraj (Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh (UP).
    • Padma Prize Recipient The 'father of laparoscopic surgery in India,' Dr. Tehemton Erach Udwadia, an Indian surgeon and gastroenterologist, passed away in Mumbai, Maharashtra, at the age of 88.
