Current Context: The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami launched “A-HELP” (Accredited Agent for Health and Extension of Livestock Production) program in the state of Uttarakhand.
“A-HELP” Program Started to Improve Animal Health in the State of Uttarakhand
  • The Indian government has launched a new initiative called A-HELP, in which women in remote rural areas will be selected to strengthen livestock-related activities.
  • The initiative was launched through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Department of Rural Development and the National Rural Livelihoods Mission, under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying.

  • “A-HELPs” trained under this program will contribute significantly in prevention of various infectious diseases of animals, artificial insemination under Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM), animal tagging and animal insurance.
