Current Context: The navies of South Korea, USA and Japan have started their first anti-submarine exercise from 3 April 2023.

In addition to this anti-submarine exercise, the three countries will practice humanitarian search and rescue operations, including rescuing people overboard and treating emergency patients.
The Defense Ministry statement said that this would be the first such training of the three countries in seven years.
The maritime exercise is being conducted in the international waters off South Korea's southern island of Jeju.
The US Navy's nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz is participating in it.
