Current Context: Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India is organizing IFGE- CBG Producers Forum Global Conference on Compressed Biogas on 17th and 18th April 2023 at Silver Oak, Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

  • The conference will revolve around the theme of "Towards Progressive Policy Foundation and Growth". The Hon'ble Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurate the conference.
  • The conference aims to update the industry regarding the Government of India's initiatives for the development of the compressed biogas industry, as well as identify policy areas that need modification.
  • India has set a target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070 and the government has taken several measures to reduce emissions, including promoting Compressed Biogas (CBG) through the Sustainable Alternatives to Affordable Transportation (SATAT) scheme.
