MoTA Minister Arjun Munda launches Marketing and Logistics Development

Current Context: On April 18, 2023, Union Minister Arjun Munda launched MoTA’s new Central Sector Scheme (CSS) – ‘Marketing and Logistics Development for Promotion of Tribal Products from North -Eastern Region (PTP-NER)’ for the benefit of Scheduled Tribes (STs) of NER, during a function at Auditorium of Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) in Imphal, Manipur.

• The scheme will promote tribal products from North-Eastern Region (NER) by providing support for marketing and logistics development.
• The scheme aims to strengthen livelihood opportunities for tribal artisans through increased efficiency in procurement, logistics and marketing of tribal products from North Eastern States.
• The scheme will apply to the States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim.
• As part of the scheme, it is planned to initiate the empanelment of agencies for providing marketing and logistics support to tribal artisans
