Current Context: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched ‘Him Data Portal’ on May 12, 2023 at the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Punjab’s Mohali during the first Governance Summit organised by the Bharti Institute of Public Policy of the ISB.

• The portal is a digital platform to integrate data of all government wings for the delivery of welfare schemes.
• It aims to serve as a one-stop platform to provide easy access to more than 200 datasets with all State-specific information available at the highest spatial granularity including block and village-level information.
• The portal was developed in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology, Government of Himachal Pradesh.
• The Chief Minister also spoke of launching ‘Him Parivar’ project from July 2023, which would give a special digital identity to the people of the State and strengthen the State’s benefit delivery systems.
