Indian Navy and Royal Saudi Naval Force Collaborate

Current Context: The Indian Navy and the Royal Saudi Naval Force have been cooperating on many fronts, such as training exchanges, hydrographic cooperation and participation in the annual Admirals Cup Sailing Regatta.

• Recently, they have collaborated for the maiden afloat training of Saudi cadets who arrived in Kochi, India on 16 May 2023. The cadets underwent 24 days of afloat training on various aspects of seamanship, navigation, fire fighting and emergency drills onboard the Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron (1TS) ships.
• This was the first-ever training of its kind between the two navies and a major stride towards mutual cooperation. The two navies also carried out a joint exercise in the Persian Gulf in April 2021.
