Union Minister Smriti Zubin Irani launches “Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi”

Current Context: Union Minister for Women and Child Development (WCD), Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, launched “Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi”, that is “Education along with nutrition”, for Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) at Vigyan Bhavan on 10th May 2023.

• The program aims to ensure that India has the world’s largest, universal, high-quality preschool network, as suggested by the National Education Policy.
• The program is a pathbreaking ECCE program to strengthen early childhood care and education and is an important component of Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0.
• The event was attended by over 800 Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) functionaries from different states and was chaired by Union Minister for Women and Child Development.
