- Renowned Marathi writer Shirish Kanekar passed away on July 25, 2023. He was a veteran journalist and critic who died after suffering a heart attack in a hospital in Mumbai. He was known for his books on cricket, Bollywood movies such as ‘Nut Bolt Bolpat’, ‘Kanekari’, ‘Cricket Vedh’, among others.
