    • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the addition of “NongHyup Bank” to the Second Schedule of the RBI Act, 1934. This significant move marks a pivotal moment for NongHyup Bank, which hails from Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea, and has been actively operating in India since its establishment in 2016
    • The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MoYAS) has decided to recognise the Handball Association of India (HAI) as the National Sports Federation (NSF) for the promotion and regulation of handball in the country with immediate effect
    • SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket successfully launched the Jupiter 3 satellite on July 28th, 2023. The Jupiter 3 satellite is owned by EchoStar and built by Maxar Technologies.
    • The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the Singapore’s DS-SAR satellite and six co-passenger payloads on board the PSLV-C56 rocket from the first launch-pad of SDSC-SHAR in Sriharikota on July 30, 2023 at 06:30 hrs IST
    • The State government of Kerala will soon roll out a unique scheme to provide financial support to first-time overseas emigrants from Kerala. The project is titled ‘Shubayathra’ and aims to create a positive and productive migration ecosystem by providing financial assistance of up to 2 lakh with a tax holiday for six months.
    • The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the PSLV-C56 carrying Singapore’s DS-SAR satellite and six other satellites on July 30, 20231. The PSLV-C56 lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 6.31 a.m.
    • Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has sought the World Bank’s assistance for upgrading infrastructure and capacity building in the state. Speaking at a meeting with the World Bank’s executive directors, Mr. Shinde said the World Bank was not just a fund-giving body, but a source of knowledge for developing countries

    • The Indian team of Aman Saini and Pragati clinched gold in the mixed team compound archery event at the FISU World University Games. They put up a brilliant show in the final to win the yellow metal, beating Korea’s Sua Cho and Seunghyun Park 157-156 in a thrilling summit clash.
    • The Indian women’s hockey team produced a dominant performance to comfortably beat hosts Spain 3-0 and win the 100th Anniversary Spanish Hockey Federation - International Tournament in Barcelona on Sunday.
  • Important Days:
    • International Tiger Day is celebrated on July 29th every year to raise awareness about the urgent need for tiger conservation. The day aims to highlight the critical plight of tigers, whose populations have drastically declined due to factors like habitat loss, poaching, and illegal wildlife trade.
  • World:
    • Indian Navy Dornier maritime patrol aircraft and an Indian Air Force (IAF) C-130 transport aircraft recently made a historic visit to Australia’s Cocos (Keeling) Islands (CKI) in the Southern Indian Ocean
    • India and Bhutan have reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation and discussed ways to further strengthen it across diverse sectors. Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra and his Bhutanese counterpart Aum Pema Choden co-chaired the India-Bhutan Development Cooperation Talks in New Delhi.
