  • The app is designed to help villagers and forest department officials to monitor the location and movement of elephants, so that they can take preventive measures to avoid any harm or damage.
  • The app also provides information on elephant behaviour, habitat, and conservation efforts. The app is part of the government’s initiative to protect the elephants and the people living near their habitats.
  • The government has also increased the compensation for damage caused by elephants, and has launched several schemes to promote afforestation and biodiversity in the state.
  • The app was launched on the occasion of the 74th Van Mahotsav, a festival of trees celebrated in India every year.
