NITI Aayog releases Export Preparedness Index 2022 Report

Current Context: According to the Export Preparedness Index (EPI) Report, 2022 released by NITI Aayog on July 17, 2023, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Gujarat are the top performers among the coastal states with scores of 80.89, 78.64, 77.73, and 76.02 respectively.

• The report ranks the states and UTs based on their export preparedness across four pillars: Policy, Business Ecosystem, Export Ecosystem, and Export Performance.
• The report also highlights the need to develop districts as export hubs and undertakes a district-level analysis of merchandise exports in the country.
