UNDP India signed MoU with Absolute

Current Context: A partnership between UNDP India and Absolute, a bioscience company, to strengthen the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and enhance the resilience of the farmers.

• The MoU aims to build technical capabilities, digitalise service delivery, promote credit profiling, use advanced technology and data-driven solutions to facilitate farmland identification and enhance farm monitoring, R&D, and analytical capabilities to facilitate data-driven policymaking and fraud analytics.
• The partnership is expected to benefit over 120 million farmers across the country who face challenges such as weather fluctuations, pest attacks, erratic rainfall, and humidity affecting agricultural produce.
