IISc Bengaluru & GSL Signed MoU to Develop AI

Current Context: Collaboration between IISc Bengaluru and GSL to develop AI for shipbuilding and defence. The MoU was signed on July 29, 2023, with the shared vision of fostering collaborative efforts in the development and implementation of AI technologies.

• The Foundation for Science Innovation and Development (FSID) at IISc Bengaluru will assist GSL in streamlining the shipbuilding procedures, reducing the construction timelines, and enhancing the overall productivity.
• The partnership aims to leverage AI to transform the maritime and defence sectors, by enabling GSL to design and construct next-generation naval vessels that are more agile, energy-efficient, and technologically advanced.
