Current Context: The Crew-7 mission is a historic collaboration between four different space agencies: NASA, ESA, JAXA, and Roscosmos. The mission launched on August 26, 2023, from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, using a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and a Crew Dragon capsule named Endurance.

  • The crew consists of four astronauts from four different countries: Jasmin Moghbeli of the United States, Andreas Mogensen of Denmark, Satoshi Furukawa of Japan, and Konstantin Borisov of Russia.
  • The crew will spend about six months on the ISS, conducting more than 200 science experiments and technology demonstrations to prepare for future missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond .
  • They will also perform station maintenance and assist with cargo operations. The Crew-7 mission is part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, which aims to provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective access to low-Earth orbit for both government and private sector customers.
  • The Crew-7 mission is the seventh crewed flight of the Crew Dragon spacecraft and the third operational flight under the Commercial Crew Program. It is also the first time that four different space agencies have flown together on a commercial vehicle.
