Current Context: India G20 Summit, 9 September 2023 – 10 September 2023, was a historic event that brought together the leaders of the world’s major economies to discuss and address the most pressing global challenges.

• The summit was hosted by India for the first time, under the theme of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, or "One Earth · One Family · One Future".
• The summit aimed to foster strong, sustainable, inclusive and balanced growth, as well as promote human-centric and equitable development.
• The G20 leaders endorsed the New Delhi Declaration, which reaffirmed their commitment to multilateralism, cooperation, solidarity and shared responsibility for a better future.
• The G20 leaders reaffirmed their support for a fair, transparent and rules-based international trade system and agreed to work towards a successful conclusion of the WTO’s 12th Ministerial Conference.
• The summit was attended by 19 member countries and the European Union, as well as 11 guest countries invited by India.
