Current Context: The Nation First Transit Card is a new initiative by SBI to enable digital fare payment through a single card across various modes of transportation in India.
State Bank of India (SBI) introduced ‘Nation First Transit Card’
  • It is based on the RuPay NCMC Prepaid Card and the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) technology, which are designed to simplify payment processes for commuters.
  • The card can also be used for making retail and e-commerce payments, adding versatility to its use.
  • The card was launched during the Global Fintech Fest 2023 by SBI Chairman Dinesh Kumar Khara.The Nation First Transit Card is a step towards the national vision of “One Nation One Card”.
  • SBI has already implemented NCMC based ticketing solutions in several metro cities such as Noida, Nagpur, Mumbai, Kanpur and Chennai.
