Union Bank of India, 1st PSB to launch Rupay Debit Cards

Current Context: Union Bank of India has launched two new variants of RuPay Debit Cards for women and high net worth individuals (HNIs). These are the RuPay Select Debit Card and the RuPay qSPARC Debit Card.

• The RuPay Select Debit Card is a premium offering with features such as airport lounge access, reward points, personal accident cover, and exclusive offers from top tier merchants.
• The card has a daily cash withdrawal limit of Rs. 1,00,000 and a daily shopping limit of Rs. 3,00,000. The card is issued to customers who maintain an average quarterly balance of Rs. 1,00,000 or more.
• The RuPay qSPARC Debit Card is a smart card that can be used for small payments such as transit, toll, parking, etc. The card is in line with the government’s initiative of National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) and can be used across various modes of transport such as metro, bus, etc.
• The card has a per transaction limit of Rs. 2,000 and a per day limit of Rs. 10,000. The card is issued to customers who opt for it at the time of account opening or later.
