Current Context: U.S. News & World Report’s Best Countries 2023 ranking is a global perception-based survey that evaluates 87 countries across 73 attributes, using a methodology developed by WPP’s BAV and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

• According to the survey results based on global respondents, India ranks 30th out of 87 countries in 2023.
• India’s overall score is 6.7 out of 10. India’s highest subranking is Movers (8th), followed by Heritage (14th) and Entrepreneurship (19th).
• India’s lowest subranking is Quality of Life (67th), followed by Open for Business (64th) and Social Purpose (58th).
• Switzerland tops the list as the best country in the world in 2023 with an overall score of 9.9 out of 10. Switzerland’s highest subranking is Open for Business (1st), followed by Quality of Life (2nd) and Social Purpose (2nd).
• Switzerland’s lowest subranking is Adventure (28th), followed by Movers (25th) and Power (23rd).
