Union Minister Gajendra Singh Launches 3 Books at JJM & SBM-(G) National Conference

Current Context: The National Conference on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G) 2024 was organized by the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

• The conference was inaugurated by the Secretary of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ms. Vini Mahajan, and was attended by senior officials from all States/UTs and senior officials from the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.
• The theme of the conference was a ‘Unified Approach Towards Sustainable Solutions in the Rural WASH Sector’, focusing on key themes like Innovation, Collaboration, Sustainability, and Operation & Maintenance.
• Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, launched three impactful books from Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM- (G)) during the conference.
• These Books are:
• Swachhata Chronicles: Transformative Tales from India- Vol. II (SBM-G)
• Swachhata Green Leaf Rating (SGLR)
• Compendium on Liquid Waste Management (LWM) Technologies
• The conference also featured digital displays of innovative solutions, technologies, and best practices in the rural WASH sector including SBM-G and JJM.
